The Medical Library features a multifaceted collection supporting the educational, patient care, research, and administrative information needs of SIU faculty, staff, students, and residents.

The Special Collections Department consists of rare books, archives, and a few manuscript collections, which relate to the history of medicine. The archives consist of  print and non-print materials of historic value emanating from the School
