Interview day
Selected applicants are invited to visit the SIU School of Medicine campus in Springfield for admissions interviews. This is the last step in the admissions process before a final decision is made on your file. The day offers us a chance to get to know you better and gauge your identification with this institution's mission and goals. Also, it gives you the chance to see our facilities, speak with faculty and students, and determine whether SIU School of Medicine is a good fit for you.
While on campus, you will have interviews with two faculty members. One will be a member (current or former) of the Admissions Committee. This person will have access to your complete admissions application. Your other interviewer will be a member of the faculty not on the Committee. He or she will have only basic biographical information and your supplemental application essays at the interview time.
The campus visit also includes an Admissions Committee presentation, a student-led tour of the campus and a chance to meet with a financial aid adviser.
