Department of Surgery residents present diverse research projects

The Department of Surgery was honored to welcome Ahmed Ghazi, MD as visiting professor for the 20th Annual Resident Research Day on Thursday, April 27. Dr. Ghazi is an Assistant Professor of Urology and Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Division at the Brady Urological Institute, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Ghazi is an innovator in the field of surgical simulation training, and made a presentation about teaching medical students and residents using surgical simulation.

He also spent the previous two days with the Division of Urology conducting simulation labs. His presentation on Thursday was followed by the Resident Research competition. This year, 15 residents presented projects from the podium and 7 residents presented posters. These were adjudicated by faculty and the results were:
