The Folse-Birtch-Sumner Lectureship is an annual event celebrating the Department of Surgery's founding surgeons - J. Roland Folse, MD; Alan Birtch, MD; and David, Sumner, MD. Many former and current surgery residents, fellows, and faculty celebrate their legacy of hard work, dedication, and strength of character. This year's visiting professor, Glenn Ault, MD, is the Physician Director for Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Ault, a Professor of Surgery, is responsible for the strategic direction and development of GME in USC’s health system. Dr. Ault also serves as the chief of service for the division of colorectal surgery at Los Angeles General Hospital, is an associate program director for the General Surgery residency and is the past program director of the Colorectal Surgery residency.
