Do you like shows like America’s Got Talent or The Voice? Whether it’s singing, dancing, acting or something else entirely, a talent show is a standout event that participants and attendees can enjoy.
This spring there is a new amateur talent program that’s very close to home.
The Performing Arts Interest Group cordially invites everyone to the SIU School of Medicine Talent Showcase at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Grace Lutheran Church, 714 E. Capitol Avenue in Springfield!
Students, residents, staff and faculty from the medical school will be sharing their talents with the community at this inaugural event.
Interest group members will judge each act based on preparation, delivery, stage presence, creativity and overall impression. The performer with the highest combined score will win a cash prize and be named the Talent Showcase Winner.
Audience can also donate to a favorite act in lieu of purchasing a ticket. The performer with the most money will receive a People's Choice Trophy. All donations will support the Child Life Specialist at HSHS St. John's Department of Pediatrics, assisting families during a difficult time through music, art and play.
The event is free and open to the public. Come check out the gifted artists and performers who work or study among us on SIU’s campus!
