Allison Linda G Scholarship
Scholarship for Medical Humanities will be open to all applicants with the following qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or veteran status.  1) A graduating senior medical student who has made significant contributions to the SCOPE magazine (or in the absence of a literary journal of SIU School of Medicine) as determined by the faculty.  2) The award will be given during the last semester of the student’s attendance.

AMA Foundation Scholars Award
AMA Foundation Scholars Award Fund Restricted to scholarship awards for medical students based on financial need and academic excellence.

American Med Women´s Association

Bohn Nielsen Scholarship Fund
1) Recipients must be a student in the SIU School of Medicine. 2) Recipients must be in their 3rd or 4th year of medical school. 3) Preference will be given to students from a small town (less than 3000) in Western and Northern Illinois (Counties shall include Adams, Brown, Bureau, Calhoun, DeKalb, Fulton, Grundy, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Kendall, Knox, Lee, LaSalle, Livingston, Marshall, McDonough, McLean, Mercer, Peoria, Pike, Putnam, Rock Island, Schuyler, Stark, Warren and Woodford).

Borkon, C. & E., Scholarship
The minimum award will be $500 per student the maximum will be $1000. Requirements for the scholarship recipient are: 1) must show financial need; 2) must be a student at the SIU School of Medicine; 3) must be a native of southern Illinois (defined as Effingham IL and south); 4) preference will be given to a student who has done postgraduate work in anatomy or physiology; 5) preference will be given to a student who has been involved in civic and extracurricular activities as an undergraduate.

Burkhart Med Scholarship
Scholarship will be open to all applicants with the following qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or veteran status. 1) The recipient(s) shall have been accepted into or currently enrolled in the School of Medicine.

Alumni Class Scholarships from the classes of 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983,1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 
1) Recipients must be a student in the SIU School of Medicine in good academic standing. 2) Recipients must have demonstrated financial need.

Cleverdon Palliative/3rd World
Preference for the Palliative Care Program Award: A) is a senior medical student who is interested in the end-of-life care and/or pain control and applies by written letter of application prior or during their fourth of medical school; B) shows written evidence of interest in community affairs in addition to academics; C) addresses in the letter of application why he/she needs assistance with the cost incurred for this program.

Preference for the Third World Study Award: a)  is a fourth year medical student who is planning on doing an elective in a third world country and applies by written application; b) addresses in the written  letter of application why she/he needs assistance with travel money for their  world study; c) is willing to speak to fellow students and college and high school student groups upon his/her return about the experience; d) is willing to submit an article for publication to a medical journal to share medical experiences  from the trip.

J. Kevin Dorsey Scholarship
1) Recipients must be a student in the School of Medicine. 2) Recipients must be in good academic standing.  3) Preference will be given to students with financial need.

Family Physician Extern Fund
Egyptian Chapter of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians Externship to give medical students experience in Family Medicine. Externship to a third or fourth year medical student who is interested in Family Practice. Elective must be with a family physician in Williamsville Franklin or Jackson City.

God at the Speed of Light Scholarship
Scholarship will be open to all applicants with the following qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status. 1) Student in the first year of medical school who has financial need. 2) Student must be in good academic standing to continue to receive the scholarship during subsequent years of medical school. 3) If the recipient qualifies to renew the scholarship for another year the award will not be given to a first year medical student unless the account has a large enough balance to cover two awards.

Heisler Medical Student Scholarship
Scholarship for deserving medical students in need of financial assistance enrolled in the SIU School of Medicine.

Hertweck Memorial Scholarship
1) Recipients must be a student in the School of Medicine. 2) Preference will be given to students who graduated from Effingham High School. 3) Preference given to students who intend to establish medical practices in Southern Illinois upon graduation.

HIF Med Student Scholarship Fund

Huggins AJ High School Scholarship
Preference shall be given to a student who: 1) attended Anna-Jonesboro High School; 2) is an entering freshman or a continuing student; 3) is in pre-med or med school. (Renewable)

Hull Health Profession Scholarship
Scholarship shall be awarded to a School of Medicine student who has completed at least twelve (12) semester hours of coursework at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, Illinois. If there is not a medical school student who meets this criteria then the scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student at SIU who has attained at least sophomore status and will be going into a profession in the allied health field upon graduation. This scholarship is renewable as long as the student remains in good standing.

Jean Dinges Memorial Scholarship Fund

Jones, Larry R. MD Scholarship
1) Recipients must be a 4th year medical student in the SIU School of Medicine.  2) Recipients must be from Saline County Illinois.

Landecker Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a first year female student residing in Carbondale. This award shall be based on scholarly achievement.

Lawrence MD/JD Scholarship
To be awarded on an as need basis to an SIU School of Medicine student who is from Havana or Mason County, Illinois, and/or to a student who upon completion of his/her medical studies intends to practice in Havana or Mason County, IL.

1) Recipient must a talented gifted and highly motivated student at the SIU School of Medicine. 2) Scholarship will be awarded based on merit.

Templeton, J., Memorial Scholarship
Preference shall be given to a student who: 1) is enrolled in the SIU School of Medicine; 2) is from a rural area or small town in Illinois with the meaning of small town to be defined by the SIU School of Medicine.

Terry, K., Med Student Scholarship

The Adarsh A. Kumar, M.D. Scholarship Fund
1) Recipient must be a 4th year student at SIU School of Medicine in good standing. 2) Recipient must demonstrate commitment to research and furthering their area of study in the field of dermatology. 3) Recipient must have demonstrated financial need

Tippy Scholarship Fund
Scholarship will be open to all applicants with the following qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or veteran status. 1) 4th year students who have been identified as academically qualified 2) students who have identified intent to practice in downstate Illinois this being identified as South of Interstate 64 excluding Metro East. 3) with preference given to those students who have  indicated commitment to practice Family Medicine.

Watson & O´Neil Scholarship
1) Recipients must be a 4th year medical student at the SIU School of Medicine. 2) Recipients must do their residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. 3) Preference will be given to students from Odell Rock Island or Galesburg Illinois. 4) If there are no recipients from Odell Rock Island or Galesburg Illinois then preference will be given to students from Livingston County Rock Island County or Knox County, Illinois.

Wilson Scholarship Fund
Scholarship will be open to all applicants with the following qualifications regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age or veteran status. 1) Female medical student in the 2nd 3rd and/or 4th year of education at SIU School of Medicine. 2) Demonstration of academic excellence. 3) Demonstrated financial need. 4) Preference given to resident/s of downstate Illinois. Student/s who receive this award during the 2nd year of study shall keep the scholarship for the 3rd and 4th years provided he/she maintains good academic standing within the School.

Wissbroecker, R., Memorial Fund
It will be awarded to assist a student(s) doing an elective in either a Third World Country or a mission in the United States.

Woodall Medical Student Scholarship
1) Recipients must be a student in the School of Medicine. 2) Preference will be given to students who graduated from Effingham High School. 3) Preference given to students who intend to establish medical practices in Southern Illinois upon graduation
