January Employee of the Month

The employee of the month for January 2020 is Rhonda Loyd, Office Manager, in the Department of Surgery.

Her nominator said:  “Rhonda consistently demonstrates the behavior standards. She helps to train and orient new staff. She has an extensive knowledge base developed over many years of experience in her role and she shares this knowledge. She explains processes thoroughly and models excellence. There have been many changes within our department and the School, and she embraces those changes and is willing to learn and continuously grow. We are very fortunate to have Rhonda on our team.”

Rhonda answered some questions for our profile.

1. What’s your job title?

I’m an office manager and also the Vascular Surgery Residency and Colorectal Surgery Fellowship Coordinator.

2.  How long have you worked at the School?

20 years

3.  What do you like best about your job?

I have a great group of faculty, residents and co-workers that make coming to work each day a pleasure.  We are a great team.  I also enjoy the variety my job brings and being able to help others.

4.  I highly recommend …

Taking one day at a time.  Easier said than done sometimes though! 

5.  My favorite thing to do away from work is …

I enjoy spending time with my family ─ husband Tim, daughter Kathryn and son Matthew ─ and being outside when the weather is nice.
