General Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology provides a wide range of consultation services for women of all ages, including, routine gynecologic exams, obstetric care, contraception and menopause management, breast and bone density screening, treatment for STDs and pelvic pain, sonography, colposcopy, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Our physicians have a large clinical practice that includes a diverse population, offering plenty of learning opportunities for medical students, residents, and fellows.

Expertise The Gynecological Oncology division, directed by Laurent Brard MD, PhD, provides women throughout Central and Southern Illinois with expert, specialized care for the treatment of all types of gynecologic cancers. Dr. Brard is a board certified Gynecological Oncologist who cares for more than 900 women per year from the region. Welcome to the Department of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at SIU Medicine. Our multidisciplinary team provides the highest quality care for women from central and southern Illinois facing complicated or high-risk pregnancies.
