    About me

After practicing OB/GYN for many years, and I have come across many challenges for my patients. What I have come to realize is that there are not enough Practitioners and resources available to help women navigate Menopause. Symptoms may begin in the mid-30s and persist for decades. Women will experience many other health concerns related to menopause including increased bone loss, sexual dysfunction, heart disease, mood changes, loss of cognition and many more. I became a member of The North American Menopause Society in order to help promote the health and quality of life of all women during this transition. I have completed my certification of becoming a Certified Menopause Practitioner in 2024.

I am originally from Chicago, IL. I initially was interested in a surgical profession, but was surprised to find out I also liked the continuity of care of patients throughout their lifetime. My mother was diagnosed with and treated for ovarian cancer when I was in college and medical school. I strongly believe the timing of these factors helped my decision to become an OB/GYN. OB/GYN training in the 1990s included much Primary Care. Although OB/GYNs never really become Primary Physicians, I can help patients understand their preventative health care as well as their medical health conditions so they can decide on the most appropriate care.

I have been living in Jacksonville, IL since 2003. My wife, Crissie and I are now empty nesters and like to travel. We enjoy spending time with our family, friends, and dogs.
