Pharmacology students organize Brain Awareness Day

Published Date:

BAD 1Graduate students from the SIU School of Medicine's Department of Pharmacology coordinated a Brain Awareness Day for 8th graders at Franklin Middle School on March 22, 2024.

During the spring gathering, grad students gave engaging presentations that included a sheep brain demonstration, memory game and quizzes. The exercises provided an enjoyable and interactive platform for students to grasp the intricacies of the brain.

The pharmacology department contributed sheep brains and item giveaways for the students, while the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives provided informative handouts and booklets. SIU extends special thanks to 8th grade science teachers Brett Troemper and Camille Alger for the opportunity to teach their wonderful students.
