SIU Medicine to Present Colors of Health Fashion Show 2024

Published Date:

The Alliance for Women in Medicine and Science (AWIMS) will host the Colors of Health Fashion Show and Community Engagement Awards on Friday, Sept. 6, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, 420 S. 6th St., Springfield, Ill.

This annual event celebrates the vibrant intersection of community engagement and health through fashion. The evening will begin with a reception at 5 p.m., followed by the fashion show at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for $20 and can be purchased online.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Springfield Immigrant Advocacy Network. This grassroots advocacy organization protects the rights and promotes the well-being and inclusion of Springfield's immigrant and refugee community through advocacy, education and assistance.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the AWIMS Community Engagement Award, recognizing an individual or organization that exemplifies AWIMS’ mission of promoting gender equity, career advancement, work-life balance and community engagement.
