Published Date:

On April 25 and 26, 3rd and 5th graders from Harvard Park Elementary School visited SIU and spent a wonderful “Harvard Park Day @ SIU”. They learned about oral health, brain functions, bone connection, and finger splint in 4 breakout sessions. At the Pharmacology Department, students gained introductory knowledge about the function of each parts of the brain, and the development of the teen brain through a PowerPoint presentation. They were also taught about the importance of protecting their brains from concussion and addictive drugs. Following the presentation, students learned about the power of focus through an interactive Mindflex game.
