Primary Responsibilities:

My primary responsibility for the Department of Population Science and Policy is to assist in research and community engagement aimed at improving health outcomes in central and southern Illinois.

About:

I was born and raised in Springfield, IL where I attended Springfield High School and played soccer for all four years. After graduating high school I attended Lincoln Land Community College where I graduated with an AS in biology.

I, then, went to the University of Illinois at Springfield and obtained a BS in exercise science in May 2019. During my time at UIS, I founded the Exercise Science Organization and served as the organization's first president. Additionally, I served as one of the student representatives for the Exercise is Medicine program for UIS.

Currently, I'm studying towards an MS in health communication from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Next summer I will be working on my capstone project looking into the effects of education entertainment on knowledge, awareness, attitude, and behavioral intentions of physical activity and nutrition.

I'm passionate about research, public health, food systems and security, and the agricultural systems. In my spare time I enjoy reading, coding, listening and playing music, craft beer, spending time with my partner and our cats, and exploring the outdoors.
