Primary Responsibilities

My primary responsibility for the Department of Population Science and Policy is to assist in research and community engagement aimed at improving health outcomes in central and southern Illinois.

About

I am graduate student at Western Illinois University pursuing a master’s in health science with a focus in health education. I currently serve as a WIU Peace Corps Coverdell Fellow focusing on community economic development.

Prior to graduate school, I was honored to work as a clothing buyer for ISAAY.com and in various roles for Peace Corps. As a member of the Peace Corps family for five years, I was selected to be an HIV outreach volunteer in South Africa, a placement officer for Peace Corps HQ in Washington D.C., and most recently a campus recruiter for WIU and Knox College. I have a BS in textile and clothing, managerial economics from University of California, Davis.

I am a proud member of AmeriCorps and interested in the areas of HIV/STI education, food security/food systems, and health disparities.
