SIU Medical School Elects Student Class Officers

Medical students at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield have been elected to leadership positions as officers, representatives and committee members for the 2016-17 school year.

Established in 1970, SIU School of Medicine assists the people of central and southern Illinois in meeting their health needs through education, patient care, research and community service. Its main number is 217-545-8000.

SIU School of Medicine Class of 2017 Officers

Sean Murray, son of John Murray of Round Lake and Kelly Murray of Lake Villa, was elected chair of the fourth-year class.

Erik Wright, son of Mark and Mary Jo Wright of Freeport, was elected vice chair of the fourth-year class.

Shawn Curry, son of Larry and Marta Curry of Bridgeport, was elected secretary of the fourth-year class.

Rachel Segal, daughter of Gary and Randi Segal of Rock Island, was elected treasurer of the fourth-year class.

Lindsey Atwood, daughter of John and Mary Atwood of Springfield, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Kyle Morgenstern, son of David and Becki Morgenstern of East Peoria, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Brock Kabat, son of Mark and Lori Kabat of Scheller, was elected as a member of the Organization of Student Representatives.

Class of 2017 Committee Members

Evyn Neumeister, daughter of Dr. Michael and Nadine Neumeister of Springfield, was elected to serve on the admissions committee and on the Year 4 curriculum committee.

BreeAnna Murphy, spouse of Mitch Murphy and daughter of Bill and Teena Groves of Springfield, was elected to serve on the community service committee and as volunteer coordinator.

Brittany Blaise, spouse of Matt Blaise and daughter of John and Jean Koch of Carbondale, was elected to serve on the doctoring committee.

Dan Summers, son of William and Linda Summers of Nashville, was elected to serve on the educational policy committee.

Alan Sutton, spouse of Jennifer Sutton and son of Ken and Alma Sutton of Burlington, Iowa, was elected to serve on the information management policy committee.

Michael Bernhardt, son of Thomas and Joan Bernhardt of Bloomington, was elected to serve on the library advisory committee.

Michael Ginnetti, son of Richard and Andrea Ginnetti of Bloomington, was elected to serve on the parking committee.

Samantha Cravens, daughter of Kevin and Suzette Cravens of Geneseo, was elected to serve on the student progress committee.

Christopher Tookey, son of Keith and Gerry Tookey of Washington, was elected to serve on the traffic appeals committee.

Austin Beason, son of Larry and Tracy Beason of Mattoon, was elected to serve on the Year 3 curriculum committee.

Kristin Terry, daughter of Walter Terry of Marissa and Linda Beierman of Belleville, was elected to serve on the Year 2 curriculum committee.

Jordan Markel, son of Paul and Shelle Markel of Bunker Hill, was elected chair of the third-year class and to serve on the doctoring committee.

Blake O’Connor, son of Don and Melinda O’Connor of Springfield, was elected vice chair of the third-year class.

Kyley Maxheimer, spouse of Erich Maxheimer and daughter of John and Erin Wyss of Mt. Pulaski and T.J. and Holly Surprenant of Washington, was elected secretary of the third-year class and to serve on the library advisory committee.

Alexis Scott, daughter of James and Jane Scott of Mapleton, was elected treasurer of the third-year class.

Thomas Hu, son of Michael and D’Ann Hu of Homer Glen, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Matt Faller, son of Greg and Carla Faller of Belleville, was elected class representative to the student general assembly.

Taylor Tabatabai, son of Fareed and Cara Tabatabai of Rochester, was elected as a member of the Organization of Student Representatives.

Thomas Massutti, son of Thomas and Lori Massutti of Decatur, was elected to serve on the information management policy committee.

Andrianna Stephens, daughter of Clifford Watson of Maple Heights, Ohio, and Tara Lee of Cleveland, Ohio, was elected to serve on the student progress committee.

Manjaap Sidhu, son of Jaswant and Nonie Sidhu of Carbondale, was elected vice chair of the second-year class.

Rory Mills, daughter of Pat and Julie Mills of Champaign, was elected secretary of the second-year class.

Jacob Lanter, son of Jeffrey and Debbie Lanter of Ellis Grove, was elected treasurer of the second-year class.

Kelly Roth, daughter of Gary and Jean Roth of Martinton, was elected class representative to the student general assembly, to the library advisory committee and to serve as volunteer coordinator.

Emily Samson, spouse of Christian Guachamin and daughter of Don and Carla Samson of Millstadt, was elected class representative.

Monica Stumpf, daughter of Fred and Tracy Stumpf of Alhambra, was elected as a member of the Organization of Student Representatives.
