About me
Dr. Rami Elmasry was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His family, originally from Cairo, Egypt, immigrated to Canada, which they now call home. From a young age, Dr. Elmasry developed a passion for health care and teaching. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and has a love for cooking.
His education includes an Honors Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology and Psychology from the University of Toronto, a Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, and certifications in Acupuncture and Massage Therapy. He also obtained his Medical Degree from St. James School of Medicine and completed his medical training and residency at the SIU Decatur Family and Community Medicine Residency Program, where he now serves as an Assistant Professor providing family medicine care.
Dr. Elmasry's decision to pursue Academic Medicine stems from his deep-rooted passion for teaching and mentoring future doctors. With his diverse training background, he brings a unique holistic perspective to patient care. His mantra, inspired by Sir William Osler, is “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” His goal is to help patients lead their best lives with optimal health and to fill any gaps in patient care. He's looking forward to partnering with you on your health journey.
