I was fortunate to get an observership opportunity at SIU and I was drawn to the program for its tight-knit community feel where the faculty and the staff are invested in their learners. I was elated to work with the attendings, residents and hospital staff who exemplified a culture of mutual respect, appreciation, collegiality, and clinical excellence. I felt the program is resident focused providing ample hands-on and procedural exposure right from the beginning of the training.
