Andrew Sanghyun Lee, PhD

Dr. Andrew Sanghyun Lee is an Assistant Professor of Medical Education and Assistant Director of the Academy for Scholarship in Education at SIU School of Medicine.

Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Human Resource Development, as well as an M.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His previous experience includes research roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at SIU School of Medicine and administrative roles in project management across diverse organizations such as the Republic of Korea Army, Human Resource Development Service of Korea, and Boston Consulting Group.

Dr. Lee's research encompasses a diverse range of topics, including students' learning in the problem-based learning curriculum, clinical residents’ role in medicine, supervisor's role in organizational socialization, the challenges associated with implementing national competency standards, and lifelong learning for professional development. He also serves as a reviewer of various academic journals, including BMC Medical Education, Teaching and Learning in Medicine, European Journal of Training and Development, and Human Resource Development Review.
