Community Health

From rural to urban

SIU School of Medicine was founded with a mandate to advance patient care for central and southern Illinois. It has fostered an environment of advocacy, where the school continues to help dozens of Illinois communities solve local health problems. Through various rural health initiatives, SIU partners with service agencies and health care organizations to help residents in towns and cities across the 66-county region.
