    About me

    Dr. Chris Lawrance is a cardiac surgeon with the SIU Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Dr. Lawrance specializes in treating patients with heart failure and has an interest in mechanical circulatory support and ventricular assistive devices. He is experienced in engaging a patient's entire care team to plan for the best possible outcome. Since Dr. Lawrance joined SIU Surgery, he has been able to implement both mechanical heart pump procedures as well as ECMO at both Springfield hospitals for patients in heart and/or lung failure. This capability enhances Springfield’s status as a regional hub for advanced and complex care.
