My primary responsibilities include assisting with the administrative and research projects within the Department of Population Science and Policy.
About:
During my undergraduate study at Fontbonne University, I worked for two years as a clinical research assistant for Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis in the Center for Human Nutrition assisting in metabolic research. My primary responsibility was in the Adipose Tissue Glucose Uptake in Obesity study. This is where my passion for research was sparked.
I also completed two internships with nonprofit organizations my senior year of study. The first internship was with the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) Midwest, where I operated communications. The second was with IFM Community Medicine, where I developed, created and implemented health education plans for free and low-cost health clinics for at-risk youth populations in the St. Louis area.
After finishing my last semester, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Promotion with a minor in Nutrition, summa cum laude. Shortly after, I sat for the Certified Health Education Specialist exam and received my CHES credentials.
