General Results

Program overview

Rotation description Fellows will be engaged in inpatient or outpatient rotations during their first year of training. Their time will be split evenly between the two services. During their outpatient time, they will maintain a fellow’s clinic so that they acquire and follow a panel of patients during their three years of training. During the second year of training, fellows will have several months of sub-specialty time to cover important topics such as Gynecologic Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Hematopathology, Blood Bank, and outpatient service. Introduction and goals

The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine's Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship is a 3-year program. We are an ACGME accredited program for a maximum of 6 fellows and accept two fellows each academic year. Our program accepts applications only through ERAS and does not accept H1B visas. We will be participating in the national fellowship match which opens August 21, 2024, and the deadline to apply is August 31, 2024. We will have 2 positions open for the 2025-2026 academic year. Our interviews will be in person and take place on Fridays in late August through September. Match

July 7, 2020, ALTON, IL ─ The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine has added a new residency program to begin serving patients within SIU Alton Family Medicine next summer. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approved the program in May.
