Units interested in having a social media presence must consult with and receive permission from the SIU Medicine Office of Marketing & Communication as well as the unit’s leader prior to creating an account. A member of the Office of Marketing and Communications must have administrative access to all social media accounts that represent SIU Medicine. By engaging in social media, units and account administrators accept the responsibility to become SIU Medicine brand standard bearers for both school and clinical communications. Students Receive New Infection Prevention Award

Congratulations to Dr. Rory Mills (bottom), Class of 2019, and Shelby Markel (top), MS3, student recipients of the Infection Prevention Award presented by Dr. Subbash Chaudhary, chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at SIU Medicine. Dr. Chaudhary and his family endowed the new annual award to recognize role modeling and leadership for pediatric infection control. The award is given to two students and a resident each year. The winners received a plaque and $500 toward medical education activities or materials. The resident's award winner will be announed at the pediatric
