Medical Education Pathway

Welcome

Goal: Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIUSOM) has long been committed to medical education innovation and scholarship that not only serves the community of central and southern Illinois, but also impacts learners around the world. SIUSOM is known around the world for such innovation and scholarship, dating back to Howard Barrows and the use of problem-based learning, and standardized patients. The purpose of this program is to acknowledge the efforts of medical students who pursue medical education opportunities and make contributions to medical education scholarship and innovation at SIUSOM. The program will also provide training in the basics of health professions education, including medical education research, and create a venue to increase accessibility to these experiences for medical students.
