Decatur Residents participate in DPS Extended Day Program - 2022

The Family Medicine Residency Decatur residents participated in the Decatur Public School Extended day Program with students from Decatur School District schools. The DPS program is a before and after-school program created to bridge the childcare gap for DPS families and support the District’s focus on providing intentional academic opportunities beyond the school day. DPS collaborated with DEA, Decatur Education Association and DFTA, Decatur Federation of Teaching Assistants to develop a program that supports district students and provides a childcare option for working families. Nikhi Vatti, MD was awarded the Excellence in Graduate Medical Education in 2022 by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Vatti is one of the 12 resident physicians to win this award in 2022. The AAFP promotes and maintains high-quality standards for family doctors who are providing continuing comprehensive health care to the public.
