The Regional Cancer Partnership of Illinois (RCPIL) will provide free prostate cancer screenings from 5 -7 p.m. on Monday, September 26, at the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, 2833 S. Grand Ave. East, Springfield. Appointments for the screening event, which includes a prostate-specific antigen test (PSA), blood test and digital rectal exam by a physician, can be made by calling 217-535-3100, ext. 3744. The event features one-of-a-kind live and silent auction items, raffles, live entertainment and dinner. Family physicians in 10 Illinois communities are hosting students from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine August 29 – September 23. The students are participating in the school’s Family Medicine Preceptorship Program. The experience provides an opportunity for students to use their medical knowledge in an office setting under the supervision of an experienced physician.
