Adult Psychiatry

The SIU School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry’s Division of Adult Psychiatry provides training and education in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for adults 18 years and older, provided in accord with the SIU Medicine Mission Statement. Psychiatry Resident Program Application Requirements

Thank you for your interest in the Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry residency training program in Springfield, Illinois. Applications must be received in ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) by October 15th of each year. Interviews are generally scheduled on Fridays from November through January. Interviews last the entire day to allow candidates the opportunity to meet with a number of faculty and residents and to visit an inpatient location. Final selection decisions are made by the Psychiatry Residency Admissions Committee (PRAC)

SIU Pediatric Urologist Now Seeing Patients in Effingham

Children with specific urological conditions requiring surgery have a new option for care closer to home. Southern Illinois University School of Medicine professor Ranjiv Mathews, MD, has partnered with Effingham Urology Associates to bring specialized pediatric urological care to Effingham County. Mathews will see patients at 414 W. Virginia Ave. in Effingham. He is the only pediatric urologist in an 80-mile radius.
