Welcome to the Division of General Surgery

The general surgery program at SIU comprises the most expertly trained and diverse group of general surgery providers in our region. All members of the division are fellowship trained in at least one advanced surgical discipline, including trauma and critical care, surgical oncology, bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and advanced surgical endoscopy. SIU Med School Elects New Alumni Board Members

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine has named five new board members to the school’s Alumni Society Board of Governors. The new board members include: Milton Armstrong, MD, FACS; Richard Austin, MD; Careyana Brenham, MD; Kelli Webb, MD; and Tabatha Wells, MD. The new board members’ three-year term will begin at the April board meeting. Armstrong, a member of the class of 1982, is the division chief in the Division of Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgery and serves as the plastic surgery residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
