Students at Beardstown High School and Beardstown Christian Academy will experience a crash reenactment at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 29, at Beardstown High School, 500 E. 15th St., Beardstown. ThinkFirst, an injury prevention program based at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, will assist in planning and presenting the event. The reenactment will focus on what can happen when young drivers drink and drive or ride with distracted or impaired drivers. Nearly 100 young learners tackled projects in the Springfield neighborhoods around the Mid-Illinois Medical District. Activities included alley clean-up, maintenance and landscaping at Enos Park, Pillsbury Mills, McClernand Elementary School, and the community gardens.
