About Pediatric Clerkship

Clerkship Goal: Students will have the basic skills, attitudes, and knowledge to safely and compassionately care for children. Structure: Our 4-week clerkship is a combination of inpatient, general practice, and subspecialty experiences. Each student has an average of 30 half days of clinic experience over the course of the 4 weeks. We assign each student to a small team of physicians who assess student performance and provide feedback. SIU medical students, residency programs matched for next phase of training

Medical students at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine learned crucial information about their futures on Friday, March 18. The graduating Class of 2022, along with other medical schools across the United States, received results from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) to learn their destinations for postgraduate training programs. A total of 64 SIU students secured residency positions. The Main Residency Match included 39,205 total positions nationally, the largest number on record.
