About the Office of Community Health Work

Established in July 2019, the mission of the Office of Community Health Work is to take the “complex” out of “complex care” by supporting programs that improve access, foster self-sufficiency, and promote healing for all. The office offers multiple programs to communities across central and southern Illinois, all rooted in motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care to reduce isolation and build trust with residents. The ADR Office of Grants and Contracts reviews and processes subcontracts for vendors or other educational institutions that are associated with grant awards. There is also a referral to SIU School of Medicine Legal for review, to ensure legal compliance, proper formatting and securement of their guidance.
