SIU Center for Family Medicine-Quincy Earns National Recognition

The Southern Illinois University Family and Community Medicine program in Quincy has achieved recognition as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. This represents Quincy’s third NCQA recognition as a PCMH. Their ongoing efforts are magnified by the achievement of Level 3 status which is the highest PCMH ranking. In an outstanding show of support from donors, 45 medical students received a scholarship this academic year, more than double last year’s number. “A big thank you to all our donors who made these gifts possible,” said Necole Powell, director of development. “Our students graduate more than $200,000 in debt.
