At the Capitol they met with legislative aids from Senator Dick Durbin and Representative Darren LaHood’s offices to promote policies to improve health care in the regions of central and southern Illinois. Dr. Christopher McDowell, an emergency medicine physician with SIU Medicine and the medical director of the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation, will be the first recipient of a newly created endowment for emergency medicine.
