SIU Faculty, Student Receive Humanism, Teaching Awards

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine honored several faculty members and students during its 2017 commencement on Saturday, May 20, at the University of Illinois at Springfield. Assistant Professor, Sabha Ganai, MD, PhD , director of gastrointestinal oncology at Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU received the 2017 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, presented by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. Jordan Lange, MD, Class of 2017, received the student humanism award. The awards are given annually to a faculty member and graduating student who demonstrate compassion, respect for patients

The Eta Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine inducted 14 new members at its spring banquet held May 19 at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield.
