Associate Dean of Center for Human and Organizational Potential

Susan Hingle is a Professor of Medicine and Medical Humanities, who serves as the Associate Dean for Human and Organizational Potential and Chair of Medical Humanities. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and a medical degree from Rush University Medical College. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hingle completed the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program. She has received numerous local, regional, national, and international awards for her teaching, mentorship, and leadership. She has been active nationally with multiple medical and medical educational organizations. She strongly believes that everyone in our organization has enormous potential to influence our mission and society for the better and is eager to share her experiences, expertise, and passion as a coach. She is trained in the basics of coaching as well as trauma informed approaches.

Director of Organizational Change Management

Sookyung Suh, Ph.D., PMP is a seasoned coach specializing in performance improvement, change management, and leadership development. Combining expertise in performance management, trauma-informed coaching, and organizational change management, Sookyung helps clients understand the big picture and address root causes of challenges. With four certifications in professional, executive, and trauma-informed coaching, Dr. Suh brings a comprehensive and empathetic approach to co-create effective strategies for sustainable growth.

Director of Culinary Medicine

Dr. Stacy Sattovia is a hospitalist and Professor of Clinical Medicine at SIU School of Medicine. Born and raised in central Illinois, she attended Illinois Wesleyan University for her undergraduate degree. She attended medical school at SIU School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine residency with chief resident year at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois in Springfield. In addition to her cHOP role, she serves as medical director for the SIU Office of Continuing Professional Development. A love of food and desire to positively and deliciously impact learners’ nutritional knowledge, completed the Culinary Medicine Specialist Certification program at Tulane University and serves as the Director of Culinary Medicine at SIU.

Director of Professional Development

Dr. Boyung Suh is an Assistant Professor of Medical Education at SIU School of Medicine. He earned a PhD in Learning, Leadership, and Organization Development at the University of Georgia associated with his interests in human and organization development, program evaluation, and inter-organizational collaboration. He holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Organizations and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Before, he worked with World Vision Korea as a corporate strategy manager and worked with LG Electronics as an overseas marketing manager. His passion for organizational excellence and performance prompted him to pursue his graduate degrees. 

Co-Director of Wellness

Tracie Johnson is an instructor for the Department of Population Science and Policy where she works to create curriculum on health systems science and population health for students and residents at SIU School of Medicine. Tracie received a bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois in Urbana, and a master's degree in Human Developmental Counseling with a concentration in Community Counseling at the University of Illinois, Springfield. Tracie worked previously as a counselor for Christian County Mental Health Association and the Taylorville Community Unit School District. As the co-Director of Wellness in the Center for Human and Organizational Potential, Tracie completed an International Coaching Federation certified training program, Positive Coaching Solutions. Tracie enjoys connecting with others and helping them find happiness and purpose in their day to day. She is available for coaching for many topics, such as personal wellness, professional growth and advancement, and overall wellness. 

Co-Director of Wellness

 Dr. Jody H. Lack is an associate professor of clinical pediatrics at SIU School of Medicine, specializing in pediatric hospital medicine. She completed a pediatric residency and her medical degree at SIU School of Medicine in Springfield, IL. She received a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL.  Dr. Lack is the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and also serves as the co-Director of Wellness in the Center for Human and Organizational Potential. She is a Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine recipient, a Purple Passion Award winner, and is commonly recognized by our medical students as one of the most professional faculty members. Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine she received training on Coaching from Positive Coaching Solutions, an International Coaching Federation certified program.  Dr. Lack enjoys coaching for self-improvement, career advancement, time management and wellness.

Director of Organization and Employee Development

David W. Ziebler, MSMOB, BCC, TIPC, RODP, is an accomplished and credentialed professional specializing in coaching, organizational development, and performance improvement. With over 15 years of experience, David has developed a reputation as a leading coach and consultant at the SIU School of Medicine. As the Director of Organization and Employee Development, he has pioneered coaching initiatives that enhance leadership, employee performance, and workplace culture. David's coaching expertise is reinforced by multiple certifications, including Board Certified Coach (BCC), Trauma Informed Professional Coach (TIPC), and Registered Organization Development Professional (RODP). His academic background includes a Master’s degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. Recognized for his skills in facilitation, conflict resolution, and executive coaching, David’s work is underpinned by a commitment to driving positive change and fostering personal and professional growth for individuals and teams. 

Director of Leadership and Excellence

Dr. Mary Iftner Dobbins leads cHOP programming for Leadership and Excellence. 
She provides coaching to enhance leadership skills, address burnout and increase job satisfaction (Sparketype), and is additionally trained in medical education (AMA) and trauma-informed coaching (Lodestar International). Dr. Dobbins received her undergraduate degree from Quincy University and her medical degree from SIU School of Medicine. She completed residencies in Pediatrics (University of Missouri) and General Psychiatry (SIU SOM), and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (University of Iowa). She is a professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, where she serves as Director of Behavioral Health and Integrated Care Initiatives, providing clinical consultation for the Survivor Recovery Center and the Gender Equity Clinic.

Director of Faculty Affairs

Heeyoung Han, Ph.D., is a Professor and the Director of the Medical Education Research Fellowship Program in the Department of Medical Education and the Director of Faculty Affairs in the Center for Human and Organizational Potential (cHOP) at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology at Ewha Womans University in South Korea. She also earned a Ph.D. in Human Resource Education at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the USA. Since her joining SIU in 2010, she has participated in numerous collaborative educational projects with faculty, residents, and students. She is an established medical educator and researcher, and her work has been recognized nationally and internationally. Dr. Han is the Chair of the ASPIRE Academy of AMEE (Association for Medical Education in Europe). She is the Chair-Elect of GEA (Group on Educational Affairs) MESRE (Medical Education Scholarship Research and Evaluation) of AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges). She also serves on the GEA National Grant Review Committee of AAMC. She received 2023 CGEA Laureate Award for her leadership, faculty development, scholarly standards, and contributions to the CGEA. She is a deputy editor of Teaching and Learning in Medicine and an editorial board member of several journals, including Korean Medical Education Review and Human Resource Development Review.
